Most people are surprised to find out that the movie star Channing Tatum has ADHD. In his latest hit Magic Mike Two, he showcases his acting ability and physical acumen.. Due to his ADHD it appears Channing is a phenomenal talent who had to overcome schooling difficulties due to his ADHD. He says that these special needs made his school years hard and shaped his life.

During a Reddit “ask me anything” conversation, Channing discusses how he handles his ADHD and Dyslexia.

“Everyone’s on a spectrum. Some people really need meds (medications) to help them, and others could maybe go on a different route. So it’s really tough. Whatever you do, hopefully you can use it to your benefit.”

Tatum has also discussed in print media that he did poorly in school because of his learning and attention issues. He was prescribed stimulants for his ADHD and his parents were adamant about his taking his meds. Tatum has always felt that there was a lack of ability for the school that he attended to address his learning needs appropriately.

“I have never considered myself a very smart person, for a lot of reasons,” T: the New York Times and Style Magazine, “Not having early success on that one path messes with you. You get lumped in classes with kids with autism and Down syndrome, and you look around and say, ‘OK, so this is where I’m at.’ Or you get put in the typical classes and you say, ‘All right, I’m obviously not like these kids either.’ So you’re kind of nowhere. You’re just different. The system is broken ... we should be able to help kids who struggle the way I did.”
Tatum had a calling for the arts, and he was willing to work hard to get there, he took opportunity and seized it at every chance: becoming a bricklayer, college football star, stripper, hip-hop dancer and model Instantly successful in movies, he has starred in movies like 22 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, GI Joe, Magic Mike and White House Down.

His dancing skills and athletic ability are evident in Magic Mike and Magic Mike II. His talent made him a star. He is also an artist, dabbling in sculpture.

It’s interesting to think that stars like Tatum Channing is being honest to discuss their childhood issues as other stars bring focus to how their ADHD issues which was a handicap in the educational system helped them to succeed as adults.
