As the weather starts to cool down during the fall months, there are lots of ways to stay warm, reduce stress, and sleep better. We’ve done our research on the benefits of a weighted blanket, and we want to share them with you!
When it comes to being healthy, quality of sleep is at the top of our list. In order to perform day-to-day tasks without feeling groggy, you have to start with a good night’s rest. When we give our bodies the proper amount of rest, we reduce the likelihood of getting sick, are more likely to maintain a healthy weight, and our attitudes are overall improved. There are so many reasons to prioritize sleep, and our blankets are a great start to accomplish that.
How can a blanket help with my stress and anxiety you may be asking yourself? Well, let’s talk about that. Firstly, a weighted blanket can act as a warm hug which has been proven to help strengthen the immune system. Deep pressure on the body can help to release dopamine and serotonin, which help combat anxiety, stress, and even depression. If you’re dealing with any of these things, we want to help you with a warm embrace.
If you or someone close to you deals with the daily challenges of ADHD or Autism, then you know how important it is to do whatever we can to help face those challenges. The force of a weighted blanket can help regulate and calm our hormones. In addition to this, it can help calm the central nervous system, helping people with these conditions feel safer and more secure.
Perhaps one of the most common bedtime issues that we all have experienced, is the inability to get comfortable and stay still. Let’s be real, we all have rough and draining days. It’s not always easy to escape from our daily grind. However, the weight of a blanket is a great tool to counter that problem. By covering yourself with the right amount of weight (approximately 10% of your total body weight) you are more likely to stay in place, resulting in falling asleep more quickly.
Remember that time that someone gave you something? We’re sure it meant as much to you as it does for us. When we receive a gift, it’s a gentle reminder of the person that we received it from. We begin to think of that person and all of their amazing qualities. When it’s time to unwind, the warm hug of a weighted blanket can give us that feeling of comfort of what it’s like to be with the person we received it from. Be that reminder for someone as the cold weather arrives this year.
